Your Current Stow Clerk of Courts
A Dedicated Public Servant
Amber Zibritosky has spent her whole career representing one client: the people. She brings over 14 years of public service experience to the Stow Municipal Court district.
Amber is the Clerk of Courts, a role she started in 2019. She was elected to finish the unexpired term that year and won a full six-year term in 2021. She is the official record keeper for the 20,000+ cases filed with the Court annually. She leads a team of about 20 people, manages a $1.8 million budget, and oversees the collection and distribution of over $7 million in court payments each year. Amber is certified in Lean Government Management and is working towards her Certified Court Manager (CCM) accreditation from the Supreme Court. She prides herself on providing customers with professional, efficient and friendly service at a low cost to the taxpayers.
Amber’s accomplishments at the Court include:
- Making legal information guides to help people without lawyers navigate the complex court system.
- Updating courthouse technology to accept e-tickets from police departments and send text message reminders to defendants.
- Partnering with the Ohio Attorney General to maintain one of the highest collection rates in the state for court fines and fees.
Before her current job, Amber worked in Stow’s Law Department for eight years. She started as a prosecutor in 2011, became Deputy Law Director in 2012, and was elected as the city’s first female Law Director in 2015. Throughout her tenure, she oversaw the prosecution of thousands of serious cases, including charges related to domestic violence and sexual assault. Additionally, Amber provided legal advice to city leaders on various matters, including contracts, employee issues, and civil rights cases. In 2018, her peers recognized her contributions to municipal law by electing her as President of the Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association.
Committed to Our Community
For Amber, service isn’t just a job, it's a way of life. Over the years Amber has been an active member of community service organizations like the Stow Munroe Falls Rotary Club, the Stow Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce, and her children’s Parent Teacher Associations (PTA).
Amber is a member of the Akron Bar Association and the current Chair of the Bar’s Access to Justice Committee. Recently, the Bar acknowledged Amber’s leadership by awarding her Committee Chairperson of the Year for 2025. Amber also serves on a number of criminal justice boards including Summit County’s Governing Board for Community Based Correctional Facilities (CBCF) and the Oriana House Advisory Board.
In 2021, Amber was one of only 30 young professionals in Summit County to receive the 30 for the Future Award by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her leadership and service to the Greater Akron Region.
With a Strong Family Foundation
Amber grew up in the court district and graduated from Hudson High School in 2003. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Miami University while competing on the school’s varsity swim team and received her law degree from the Ohio State University. Upon graduation, Amber returned home and volunteered at the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, where she met her husband, while studying for the Bar exam.
She currently lives in Stow with her husband, Jerad, and their two kids, Grayson (11) and Sienna (8). When she happens to have any spare time, Amber enjoys long-distance running and watching her children’s soccer games.
