  • About Amber Zibritosky

    Your Stow Clerk of Courts

    Amber is the current Clerk of Courts for the Stow Municipal Court, first appointed in March 2019 and elected in November 2019. Clerk Zibritosky serves as the keeper of all official records for the 20,000+ cases filed with the Court annually. Amber is also responsible for the receipt and proper disbursement of the Court’s $7 million annual revenue as well as managing a staff of up to 17 deputy clerks and annual budget of $1.2 million. Amber is certified in Lean Government Management and prides herself on providing customers with professional, efficient and friendly service at a low cost to the taxpayers.

    Since taking office, Amber has worked to modernize the Court. Her Office offers a completely paperless filing system for all civil filers and online public access for criminal and traffic records. Amber is currently working on implementing text message notifications for court appearances and e-ticketing for traffic cases. Amber believes everyone should have access to justice. In 2021, the Stow Clerk’s Office partnered with OhioLegalHelp.org to create and distribute basic legal information, in plain English, to help self-represented litigants navigate the complex court system. Amber is a current member of the Ohio Association of Municipal/ County Clerks of Courts (OAMCCC) and the Akron Bar Association. She also serves on the Facilities Governing Board of Summit County and on the Oriana House Advisory Board. In August of 2021, Amber was one of only 30 young professionals in Summit County to receive the 30 for the Future Award by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her leadership and service to the Greater Akron Region.

    Amber is also an attorney, licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio since 2010. She received her juris doctorate from the Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in the same year and her bachelor’s in Political Science from Miami University in 2007. Prior to becoming Clerk, Amber dedicated her legal practice to serving the community of Stow as Law Director. Amber was first appointed to the position in 2014 and then elected to a 4-year term in 2015. Amber was the youngest attorney to be appointed and elected Law Director and the first female Law Director in the City’s history. As Law Director, Amber served as the Chief Prosecutor for 5 of the 16 jurisdictions that comprise the Stow Municipal Court district and oversaw the prosecution of thousands of cases per year. In 2018, Amber was recognized by her peers for her work in the field of municipal law when she was unanimously elected to serve as the President of the Northeast Ohio Law Director’s Association.

    Amber grew up in Hudson, Ohio and currently resides in Stow with her husband Jerad, an Assistant Law Director for Cuyahoga County, and her two children Grayson (7) and Sienna (4). Amber also actively serves her community as the Parliamentarian for the Stow-Munroe Falls School PTA Council and is an active member in local Chambers of Commerce. When she happens to have any spare time, Amber enjoys watching her children’s soccer games, long distance running, swimming and biking.
